Everyone wants that great first impression, and what better first impression than your home. Whether or not we'd like to admit it, when you walk into a another home the first thing you do is make judgments. How they live, what their style is like, what their favorite colors and hobbies are...etc. If you want to make an amazing first impression, create an amazing Entryway Room. Make it pop, show off you and your family, and all of the great features of your home; to do it simply and create yet another weekend of DIY project. Here are some new tips on what you can do to get that "Wow" factor. Dressers, Benches & Doors. Oh My! With new trends flying around the Internet everyday it's quite difficult on what to purchase when you feel your heart loves it all! Make it simple. Take a photo with your phone in the furniture store of all your furniture that you want for your entryway. Don’t compare them till you have all the photos in, and don't bother separating the furniture apart to get a clean photo. Once you've done this only judge your photos on what stands out. What pops? Is it that neon pink dresser or maybe the bright white console table, whatever it is it caught your eye and that should be the type of furniture piece you great your guests with every single day. If it's obnoxious don't worry, you can always tone down a radical piece of furniture with mellow mirrors, fabrics and vases. It's a give and take in Interior Design world, always remember that! Colors Everywhere! It can be confusing at times to select one color per room, when so many family members prefer different styles and thus colors. Tone it down with the help of designseeds.com, which takes any color and pairs it with multiple others. A theme makes it easier when picking out furniture, art and other accessories. Coats And Racks. A classic pair, find your favorite rack art and pair it with a matching bench and wha-lah you have made a traditional entry space for your lovely home. Want to spice it up? Add in potted plants or if you need something more simple (like the example photo shown below) succulents require little water and just need to be placed near light to survive your hectic lifestyle. Wallpaper and Mirrors. Wallpaper is still my favorite way to spice up a small space. Usually with little space to fill a bold wallpaper print makes your small space feel larger and it adds style! Mirrors accompanied with bold wallpaper or even a plane wall adds space with its light and unique style. Family Pictures In White. When frames are done in unison and accompanied with a long and beautifully polished wooden bench (or any beautiful bench for that matter) it creates a simple entryway that can be flawless even when shoes are shoved underneath it. Flowers. Take your Farmers Market stroll with purpose. Pick up some local flowers every weekend, and make that your treat. A beautiful home helps you feel like inviting others, and having over good company is what a home should be used for. Check out the example photo below for a creative example on using fresh flowers. Furniture In Color. Big furniture in either bright or soft pastels, whatever your style fancies, makes a statement of comfort and a clean household. Purchasing a sofa with a high back and that entryway may become your new favorite reading room. Stairs And No Room. Stairs the first thing you see and no room for any other accessories? No problem. Sand your wood; strip your paint or carpet. It's time to get simply creative. With a durable fabric, a new stain (for wood stairs) or fresh bright paint your stairs will welcome guests and create a fun experience when traveling upstairs. Remember when you finish your new entryway to invite over your favorite people. Because a good design is always made complete when viewed and admired by others you care about.
